I don't think there was anything super revolutionary in here. No lessons you can't get from a good romance novel. Spoilers: women love being in emotionally abusive relationships with emotionally distant men. I think it is probably good that this book is popular so Sensitive Young Men like myself can dethrone those awful avoidant male abusers. It is the age of the anxious lover <3
I think as well these books aren't healthy to read. I think self-analysis is a bad habit and thinking too much gets you into the types of traps Dr Levine is attempting to unravel. Reading books on how to love is only going to make loving harder. One ought to be unrestrained and unthinking with these things. I don't need a doctor to tell me how to love my girlfriend— I simply do.
