I really wanted to like this but it just felt like a Monty Python sketch that went on for too long. Maybe I'm just retarded. Kafka's stories rule though

I suppose. I actually like the parts where the guys get whipped in the closet, in the cathedral where the priest tells the story about the guy stuck outside the gates until he dies and then the final chapter where they execute Josef K. but yeah I guess I didn't vibe with it over all? I dunno. I understand what Kafka was going for, it just didn't click with me. Like there's good stuff in there but I thought the execution was off. I understand the frustration element but I just felt bored. Like I just checked out or something

"it just felt like a Monty Python sketch" I think thats the idea behind the book. It's supposed to induce in the reader the same feeling of frustration and hopelessness one feels when trapped on the bureaucratic carousel. You need one paper to get the other, but to get the first one you need another. No other work of fiction has managed to piss me off like this one.
