Really well-written account of the productions of the five Best Picture nominees of 1967 (In the Heat of the Night, Bonnie and Clyde, The Graduate, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, and Doctor Dolittle) and the socio-political environment they reflected. So much changed so fast in the sixties and it's fascinating seeing the ways Hollywood tried to deny everything occurring until it became literally impossible not too. The anecdote where Warren Beatty sasses Jack Warner is hilariously based. Getting titties and f-words in movies was a good thing, cmv
