It's ok I guess. An anthology of stories revolving around dysphoria of the physical human condition. Interesting premise which makes for a few good stories but it feels like Murata expects the novelty of the idea to do all the heavy lifting. You can really tell she's phoned it in with some of them.
Clinically written in that very typical Japanese way.

Oh no! I could not disagree more. I fucking loved this collection. I thought every single story was phenomenal. Many brought tears to my eyes, and the eponymous one almost made me cry.
