A Japanese translator meets an old French friend and spends a few days in Normandy, where he draws links between people alive and dead, books, memories and reality. The usual inner life projected onto the world then illuminating in return some darker corner of the soul.

The exoticness of French Normandy viewed by a Japanese man was lost on me.
