I think Cossette’s biological dad, Félix Tholomyès, would have been a great father. Life to Tholomyes was a song. Much less serious than Valjean. This would have suited Cossette’s demeanor far better. And maybe she wouldnt have ended up with such a loser

It's precisely that Tholomyès didn't raise his own child that makes him who he is. If he were to have been the kind of person to take care of Fantine and Cosette, he would have been just as boring as Jean Valjean.
