I love Hiaasen, would def recommend Strip Tease above all his other work. (Though I don't know a single person in my generation who doesn't have some fondness for Hoot.) James Ellroy's American Tabloid trilogy is fun, though the first is far and away the best (and honestly a great novel by any yardstick).
