humbly asking for some french lit recommendations for my first trip to paris. will be reading at cafes and on transit, so nothing too hard to jump in and out of, ideally. really haven't read much from france besides candide, the lover, les mis, and some camus

you might like Inseparable by Simone de Beauvoir. it's one of my favorites of her fiction works and is relatively short

i also recommend this book, but i recommend against reading it on vacation. maybe père goriot instead?
