Favorite and/or interesting Christmas reads that are good for getting into the holiday vibe? I've already read most of the big ones -- A Christmas Carol, Polar Express, The Nutcracker, The Grinch, The Night Before Christmas, etc.

I can't believe no one's mentioned Joyce's The Dead yet! The John Huston film version is excellent as well.

L. Frank Baum's The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus and Tolkien's The Father Christmas Letters are childhood favorites, but I haven't read much Christmas literature since. Dostoyevsky does have a couple of relevant short stories, but they'll kill any holiday cheer you have.

Gogol's "Christmas Eve" is a fun one, and pretty short. https://www.gutenberg.org/files/58409/58409-h/58409-h.htm#THE_NIGHT_OF_CHRISTMAS_EVE

The domestic scenes in Mason & Dixon always makes me wish it was Christmas even in the summer.
