Hey, not familiar with before sunrise. Is it good? Who’s the author? Not sure if it’s what you’re looking for but I liked Earth Angel by M Cash for slice of life-ish short stories, and maybe Rachel Cusk, but that’s probably stretching the definition.

A Room With a View is my favourite slice of life romance novel. However it focuses more on the female main character's inner life and I find the characters are more emotionally complex than in Before Sunrise. It is set in Edwardian England so the language might put you off but you get used to it super fast and and E.M Forster has beautiful prose.

Finishing The Loser by Bernhard felt like the sun finally coming up if that's of any use? It's not really a pleasant read though, more like looking into a dirty puddle and then feeling clean when you look up again.
