Sorry if you like this book but I fucking hated it. Will never understand its praise. Just felt like reading a straight man’s middle life crisis, so I guess if you can relate maybe it’s for you. It’s a novel that gestures toward philosophy but only delivers the most trivial sentiments and musings. Maybe it’s less cringey in French (although I doubt it).
