I wrote my senior thesis on this book so naturally I think it's pretty great. It gets overshadowed by Ulysses because the latter is a lot more readable and doesn't risk any "lmao so random" type humor, but I think there's a lot to be said about this book's merits. It has meditations on philosophy & history, pathos which at times is more profound than that found in , smutty sex, a rich sense of humor, and of course, the LANGUAGE is incomparable. It's one of those books which changes you through the process of reading it, whether it demands so much from you as a reader, or whether it's Just That Good.
