I know this has been referenced to death in POP CULTURE but it really is just an incredible outpouring of the kind of anger and bitterness that is born of personal tragedy and of becoming fed up with the fake positivity of mainstream discourse (Christianity as poptimism?). I think that one probably needs to be in the right kind of mood to fully buy into it, but it can be so cathartic.
