Point-and-click but on paper

It's like a point-and-click mystery game: a door, or a drawer, or a hallway, etc., will have a number on it, and to explore that way you turn to the page bearing that number. I love it and want more like it. Unfortunately I got stuck and was so deep in it I was taking notes, and now I basically need to start all over again. Severance vibes, kind of.

I really liked “choose your own adventure” books as a kid. This sounds like it might scratch that part of my brain again. Sounds very unique.

I used to have as a kid this book called "Maze: Solve the World's Most Challenging Puzzle" that operated like this. Took me quite a while to solve it. Ended up drawing all over it creating new rooms and doors and riddles. Beats crosswords.
