It can be hard to find good experimental authors. The community of readers is so small you can’t tell what’s good and what’s bad from the smattering of reviews. Additionally, many books aren’t even available at large public and uni libraries (and only sometimes through other means). You have to purchase books which can get painful. Who wants a shelf of mediocrities?
Collected Voices in the Expanded Field is a novel written by 34 different experimental authors, one chapter each. Obviously, there’s no way to accurately describe such a book, but I will say this: almost every author was good, and there were a few truly great contributions (I enjoyed Vincent James Perrone, Adam Tedesco, and Candace Wuehle in particular). If you’re looking for new English experimental authors, this is the perfect collection.
