Lightly fictionalised life in and around '70s Hollywood. The lowlifes of showbiz high society, the absurdities of the made-it class, the pleasures of existence when existence is all free time. Eve's best quality is that she's interested in everything, even the things she isn't interested in (the baseball chapter is a great example of what I mean). Doesn't feel affected even though the raw material is known to have been jazzed up for publication. Ars est celare artem and all that. Like a slutty Joan Didion.
