Proper Journalism

A book that's worth reading. It's a journalist's account of (predominantly) elderly Americans who are forced into living out of mobile homes and survivng on precarious work. "Real" journalism in the sense that the author lived the new nomadic lifestyle for 18 months (readily admitting that it was only a pale comparison to being forced into it). While following the journey of one elderly woman, it covers a lot of ground across the USA, and economic history. It's heartbreaking, with moments of joy. It's also very accessible and written with compassion and understanding.
