Man, I get that this is supposed to be a inspiring story for the youths about God's gifts and how great of a surgeon he is and all that but this is the most "that happened" book about neurosurgery I have ever seen. Anyone on a neurosurgical service can tell you that at least half of it is veggies and cripples. You're telling me that no one got horrifically maimed and couldn't recover, or are you just picking and choosing the best anecdotes? When the Air Hits Your Brain starting out with describing catastrophic traumatic brain injury and cardiopulmonary arrest after a young woman gets in a motor vehicle collision is much more representative of the modal surgical experience than any moment in this book.
Okay, you inspired some youths but that's as much credit as I'll give this book.
