Sorry to blogpost but one of the darkly funny moments in the book is when he talks about the silver lining of terminal lung cancer saving his marriage getting destroyed by residency. I thought that was so ridiculous when I first read it but now watching my career erode every nonfamilial human relationship I have I'm beginning to understand what he was talking about.
