All that aside, I desperately need to return this to my school library, so it's time for a (rushed) review. I adored the first chapter ("Sex and Violence, or Nature and Art") and how elegantly it lays the groundwork for Paglia's central argument: that the push-and-pull of Apollonian vs. Chthonic nature is the central struggle in Western culture.
