Second reading. Read in French this time. Still think Meursault is an insect. I would kill myself instantly if I had to live a day in his shoes. The fact that he continues to live is a testament to his cowardice. "uhhh nothing matters, it's all the same" then why don't you kill yourself?
The book only has two good parts. The start of Part I, when he's interviewed by the Christian officer which shows him the teachings of Christ and reveals how senseless Meursault's life-view is. The other, at the end, when the priest delivers the coup de grace and completely destroys Meursault's philosophy. Meursault finds himself so utterly outmatched by the superior intellect of a man vested with priestly authority that he flies into a fit of rage—starts hitting the wall with his head, begins to see red, loses control of himself, passes out.

After seeing the slop in your shelf I understand why you would say that.
