Not strictly speaking as good as Homer (probably bc this was written by one dude and wasn't selected from the best of oral tradition) but still solid regardless. The worst parts are eye-wateringly boring but the best parts outclass Homer in their stupefying richness and emotional turmoil. Aeneas's poor wife! And how Dido hasn't become an Amy Dunne/Lux Lisbon style crazy girl icon is beyond me
