Favorite V.S. Naipaul? I'm obsessed with his non fiction but havent read any of his fiction. My favorite of his so far is the essay collection "The Writer and the World"

The short story/novella collection In A Free State is his fiction that stuck with me the most and still resonates. Some of his longer fiction has lost its immediacy and sociological venom through no fault of the author, times just change. For non-fiction, The Loss of El Dorado, A Turn in The South, and Beyond Belief are among my favorites but I haven't read it all.
