Honestly this book is just bandwagoning off the TV show which my sister loves but I have yet to watch. That being said it's pretty interesting in how it captures surgery in transition with older attendings trying to adjust to a new century. Examples include getting used to an electronic medical record and laparoscopic surgery, it would be extremely rare for a laparoscopic cholecystectomy to take a few hours today although it appears to be a regular occurrence even then. Read if you're a resident who wants to be surprised by the changes within 1-2 decades
