Not much to say other than that. Truly one of the best books ever written. Everybody loves The Buried Giant from Ishiguro, and it's pretty good, but I think The Remains Of The Day is much, much better. Very creative in how it peels off the layers of the proverbial onion slowly, subtly, shrewdly, and, in the end, devastatingly.

I think about about that scene at the end where Stevens breaks down on the bench while talking to a stranger often. Such a powerful book.
