Sort of a continuation of the themes of Man Descending, but it doesn't work as well. These stories about pathetic, broken people work best as pithy short stories IMO, and it can be hard to deal with spending a novel's length of time with characters like this. That said, still a decent read if you're into books about sad divorced men.
