Como conjunto, los ensayos y los relatos sugieren que el inglés - a pesar de las críticas que se suelen tirarle como idioma literario - no va tan mal. Incluso dice que es básicamente imposible escribir fantasía en castellano, y mucho más común en inglés (e.g. Poe, Chesterton, Wilde(!)). Es algo como el inglés, por no tener la gramática estricta de castellano, deja que las palabras apiladas se rocen y creen significados múltiples. Se deja salir lo neurótico, aunque superficialmente parece muy refrenado.

Yeah that showed up on my insta feed a lot! I think he appreciates English like he appreciates novels, but sees both as trying to do something he doesn't feel an inclination for. I find his stories like a kind of sanitised Kafka, without any psychological baggage, just pure mathematical treatment of the infinite as a philosophical question, and naturally the precision of Spanish lends itself to this austerity.
