Melville's "The Confidence Man" and Krasznahorkai's "Satantango" off the top of my head. Nice choice of song for this list.

The Confidence Men by Margalit Fox might fit here, though it's a bit of a weird book.

God I fucking despise that 48 laws of power book (or that book how to influence friends and be a loser or whatever). These types of books are always written by complete midwits for complete midwits on how to have something (your mana) that you either have or don't have written by fate. But at least the former midwit got the later midwit's money by selling them a book. If you lack mana and animal magnetism, you will never get it by reading a book or even a thousand of them. Great list.

I work in a public library and seeing the people who check these books out really tells you everything you need to know about them, haha
